Theodore Roosevelt is the 26th President of the United States of America. He was promoted to the president from the Vice President in 1901 (34th year of Meiji) as a result of the assassination of President McKinley and was re-elected by winning the landslide victory in the election in 1904 (37th year of Meiji). At the Russo-Japanese War, Roosevelt assisted Japan in various forms including financial assistance to check the invasion of Manchuria by Russia, and contributed to the conclusion of the Russo-Japanese Peace Treaty (Portsmouth Treaty) hoping the peace under the balanced power between Japan and Russia. He died in 1919 (8th year of Taisho) at the age of 61.
