Title: [Japan] The occupation of Fengtian Prefecture
On 13 December 1894, as it advanced towards Fengtian, the Japanese army attacked and captured Haicheng in Fengtian Prefecture. However, Chinese forces launched repeated counterattacks in an attempt to recapture this strategic centre of transportation and fighting continued between the two sides in the fierce cold of winter. This print shows Japanese soldeirs carrying out a bombardment of Fengtian Prefecture.
