JACAR Newsletter Number 46 Released (March 27, 2025)

JACAR Newsletter Number 46 is now available on this website.

　

For this edition of the Newsletter, we have a special contribution from Nihon University Professor Matsushige Mitsuhiro about the Yamaguchi University Library’s Modern and Contemporary East Asian Records Collection that recently was made accessible through the JACAR database.

　

To mark 130 years since the end of the First Sino-Japanese War, the Newsletter is also carrying a special feature article focusing on events that took place on the Korean Peninsula that have been described as the “hidden side” to the conflict between Japan and Qing China.

　

Furthermore, the Newsletter also touches on some episodes involving Hachiko that could not fit into the “Reminisce – JACAR: Children from Japan and the U.S. Joined by Hachiko: Based on Diplomatic Papers from 90 Years Ago” YouTube video that was released on March 8.
