- Document 1 is issue No. 214 of Shashin Shuho, which was published on April 1, 1942. On the cover of this issue is a photograph of Japanese forces entering Rangoon, and on the inside of the cover is a photograph of Japanese soldiers who are described as taking in a “reclining Buddhist statue” at Pegu in northwestern Rangoon. There is also a spread of photographs depicting different scenes in Rangoon (see the first to third images).
- Document 2 is titled “Response to the fall of Java and Rangoon,” which was drawn up by the General Headquarters of the China Expeditionary Army on March 18, 1942, ten days after the occupation of Rangoon. This document is a collection of responses to the fall of Rangoon from Chinese people of different social standing, along with the opinions submitted at a discussion meeting of “people involved in covert operations.”
