On January 16, 1940, the Mitsumasa Yonai Cabinet was established following the resignation of the Nobuyuki Abe Cabinet.
  • Document 1 is issue No. 100 of Shashin Shuho, which was published on January 24, 1940. It covers the establishment of the Yonai Cabinet.
  • Document 2 is issue No. 101 of Shashin Shuho, which was published on January 31, 1940. It also discusses the establishment of the Yonai Cabinet. The cover of this issue features a photograph of Prime Minister Mitsumasa Yonai’s face, and page 1 contains pictures of some of the ministers in the Yonai Cabinet.
  • Document 3 is a Kobun Betsuroku that was drawn up when Mitsumasa Yonai was appointed Prime Minister.
