@Japan set up the Residency-General to exert the right of diplomatic protection based on the second Korea-Japan Agreement in Taehan Empire (the Korean Empire) that was deprived of the diplomatic rights as a result of the second Korea-Japan Agreement and was made a protectorate of Japan. In addition, Japanese Resident General began to interfere in the internal affairs of Korea.
