Commentary	製鉄事業を専管する工部省の内局。1870年閏10月の工部省設立の際、横須賀・横浜の両製鉄所を所管する製鉄所掛が設置された。1871年8月、製鉄寮に改組。1872年10月製作寮に吸収されるかたちで廃局。
