Commentary	1945年9月、内閣技術院の解体にともない、技術院の所管していた標準化行政を担うために、商工省の外局として設置された。1948年8月の工業技術庁設置により、標準化行政は工業技術庁標準部に移され、特許標準局は特許局へと改組された。
