Commentary	昭和21年1月4日付連合国総司令部覚書「ある種の政党、協会、結社及び他の団体の廃止に関する件」により軍国主義的、超国家主義的団体の解散が命じられ、これら団体に属する財産は日本政府が差押え管理することとなり、同年8月19日解散団体の財産の管理及び処分等に関する政令及び解散団体財産売却理事会令により、法務府の所管組織として設置された。
